Great location, just off the main street leading to the market and nearby bars. Beautiful garden and many Warungs and restaurants nearby. - Within a moderate distance from Ubud Palace.

Wonderful and impressive place all in all, has accommodating staff with great customer service. Their breakfast option with fresh juice, an Indonesian offering, coffee or tea is freshly cooked, put others we have been to shame! The location of the venue is perfect and beautiful, really close to a wonderful garden, and most popular monuments.

The hospitality of the owner is very impressive.
The location is quite far from the center of Ubud (around 15 min of walk), but, on the bright side, it's not noisy and suitable for relaxing. The room is quite old and needs a renovation (esp. toilet). But, overall, it's a good value for what you pay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. the value for money was amazing, with affordable prices that were worth every penny. Secondly, the attention to detail was impressive, from the meticulously maintained gardens to the rooms with a view to the garden. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, providing excellent service throughout my stay. Lastly, the location was perfect, with the hotel being just a short walk away from the bustling town center, filled with numerous restaurant options.
Everything was okay with this hotel.

Very nice room with in-suite kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Nicely landscaped courtyard.
Slightly away from the town center. The sign is too small to find. No regular receptionist. Has to look for people to check in and pay bill.

Bali is the best experience I’ve ever had and Alas Petulu has contributed a lot. For those who want to experience the real feel of Bali in a charming place, this hotel can be the best option. We stayed in the pool villa (unfortunately only one is available, there are other 4 room buildings, also nice but for low budgets). It is a family run business and the owners are really nice. Breakfast is good (eggs cooked as you which, toast, butter, marmalade, coffee, tea, fruits). The location is good as well, 5 minutes walk from Ubud market. Few tips: rent a car only with driver, it is cheap (app 40 $ per day) because it is impossible to find the right roads (directions are not marked); go to rise terraces (there are a lot, Tegalalang, Jatiluwih etc), temples (Tirta Empul is really nice and is not far, Uluwatu and Tanah Lot are mandatory but a little bit far), have a dinner in Lotus restaurant near Ubud Palace (rich dinner for 2 app 50 Eur), if go shopping you need to bargain a lot (anyhow souvenirs are really cheap and really well made); go to Tinkamani volcano (there is a nice restaurant on a cliff with a spectacular view but do not take the menu, order a la carte, it’s much better and cheaper; on the way to Tinkamani go to one of the places where they sell Kopi Luwak (the famous coffee) and you can see the animals (luwaks) as well.
I really liked everything!

The hosts were really friendly and there is a really nice atmosphere. The Alas Petulu is very close to the main street but in a quiet place. The Rooms (in the Family Cottage) were very nice. We slept very well. The breakfast was also very good.
We found, that the bathroom was a little bit old comparing to the rooms.

The hotel is modern Balinese style . small but beautiful . The owners have service mind. The rooms are comfortable and air-con ,Wifi are good I get luxuries service more than price that I pay.
The street is dark and have a lot of dog.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
